Reactive processing is an effective techniques for modification of polymers.
In this paper we describe the modification of mechanical properties, thermal stability and chemical resistance of polyamides by crosslinking in the extruder. The crosslinking agents, pyromellitic dianhydride, melamine, diglycydyl terephthalate and maleic anhydride were compounded with potassium carbonate anhydride as catalyst
It was found that extruded resins are improved in tensile strength, heat resistance and chemical resistance.
