The dependencies of the flow length on injection velocity, barrel temperature and mold temperature have been studied experimentally in thin wall molding for polystyrene by a modified injection molding machine which compensated for the compression of the oil hydraulic fluid. It was found that the flow length was largely improved by compensation control under some molding conditions, that is, injection velocity above 80 mm/s, barrel temperature of 220℃ and mold temperature between 30 to 50℃.
